NeolonTM lined with etc is an expanded closed black neoprene. As the material has excellent cushioning properties it is ideal for use as a covering for orthotics. NeolonTM lined with etc is suitable for even the most active patients, as it reduces friction to almost zero, moisture, heat and thus brings comfort and extended wearability to previously unattainable levels. This fabric is highly durable, breathable and colourfast. Don’t just wick, store or move moisture… attack it at the source…eliminate the cause. Properties:
- Dynamic balance of shock absorption and energy return
- Wicks moisture
- Washable – Durable – won’t ‘bottom out’
Sound Orthotics offers Neoprene in black in both 1.5mm and 3 mm thicknesses. Blue is available by special request.
P-Cell has a high moisture deflection that does not allow moisture to soak in, moisture that can lead to bacterial growth near the skin, complications and infections. That is why P-Cell is an excellent choice as a top cover for Diabetics. P-Cell is superior to pink plastazote in cushioning, shock absorption, tensile strength, moisture absorption and abrasiveness. it is a closed cell EVA foam that has been tested by independent research companies against Plastazote for abrasion, coefficient of friction, moisture deflection, durability and tensile strength. P-Cell works best in combination with Poron as a midlayer and is the default top cover/midlayer combination on our Specialty Diabetic orthotic. You can, of course, order P-Cell for any device. Sound Orthotics stocks PINK P-Cell in 3 mm thickness and BLACK in both 1.5mm and 3 mm thicknesses. BLUE is no longer available.
Mid Layers
Rekoil is an open cell microcellular polyurethane that allows for effective transfer of air and perspiration and results in a cool and dry environment, while maintaining the benefits of heat retention. It has excellent tensile strength and resistance to compression set while maintaining durability. Sound Orthotics offers Rekoil in 1.5 mm and 3 mm thicknesses.
